Associate Professor Julie Rudner is director of campus at La Trobe University, having previously led the Community Planning and Development Program. She is well known in the Central Victorian community for her contributions as a public intellectual – in particular, her study on the Bendigo mosque

La Trobe University Campus Director, Bendigo Dr Julie Rudner hitched hiked around Australia in the early 1990s and liked it so much, she migrated permanently. Julie’s expertise covers cultural and physical geography and urban planning specialising in regional research examining the intersection of local and state government policy, people, and place. Julie has worked in government, the private sector and for 11 years at La Trobe Bendigo becoming an Associate Professor and leading the Community and Urban Planning Program. Julie became Campus Director in January 2021, she continues to supervise PhD students in arts, health, and engineering-based disciplines
