The final session of the term for the Girls in STEM Club at the Discovery Science and Technology Centre was nothing short of electrifying, a week to remember in every sense!
This session sparked curiosity as participants dived into the fascinating world of circuits and switches. The girls explored the essential components that make up an electrical circuit, gaining a hands-on understanding of how energy flows. Through fun and interactive experiments, they tested different materials to discover what conducts electricity, turning theory into real-world discovery.
The excitement truly built as they designed and constructed their own circuits. By experimenting with both series and parallel configurations, they uncovered how each setup affects the flow of electricity, learning why some circuits are more efficient than others. Adding switches and different resistors introduced a new layer of complexity, giving them control over their creations and helping them understand how everyday electrical devices function.
The room buzzed with energy, ideas, and teamwork as the girls shared their discoveries and supported one another. It was a wonderful display of creativity, problem-solving, and growing confidence in STEM.
To top off an already fantastic term, the session ended on a high note with a thrilling ride down the vertical slide, a perfect celebration of their hard work and enthusiasm.
It has been an inspiring journey, and this final session captured exactly what the club is all about: learning, laughter, and a love of science.
